Basic Description Synonyms DIBROMOTHYMOQUINONE|29096-93-3|2,5-Dibromo-6-isopropyl-3-methyl-1,4-benzoquinone|2,5-Dibromo-3-isopropyl-6-methylbenzoquinone|Dbmib|2,5-Cyclohexadiene-1,4-dione, 2,5-dibromo-3-methyl-6-(1-methylethyl)-|2,5-Dibromo-3-methyl-6-isopropyl-p-benzoquinone|2,5-d Specifications & Purity ≥95% Biochemical and Physiological Mechanisms 2,5-Dibromo-6-isopropyl-3-methyl-1,4-benzoquinone as an inhibitor of respiratory and photosynthetic processes.
Storage Temp Room temperature Shipped In Normal Product Description 2,5-Dibromo-6-isopropyl-3-methyl-1,4-benzoquinone, is also known as DBMIB. Research shows DBMIB can act as an inhibitor by residing at the Qo site of the cytochrome b6f complex. DBMIB can stimulate antimycin-insensitive reduction of cytochrome c catalyzed by the bc1 complex. The compound, also known as dibromothymoquinone, has been shown to inhibit and reduce at the donor side of Photosystem I of intact chloroplasts, as well as inhibit both light-harvesting complex II kinase and photosynthetic electron transport in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii cells.
