Protein Quantitation

Protein quantification and protein determination are the key to accurately determine protein concentration in samples. There are many methods for protein quantification, including UV absorption assays, reagent based assays and immunoassay techniques. Each protein quantification technique has its unique advantages, and which samples are suitable for analysis depends on the type of sample and/or the volume available for analysis. For example, some dye-based assays may interfere with chemicals in buffer preparations, so other assays may be more suitable. Scientists need to consider the limitations of each assay to determine which method is best for measuring their samples.
