Liver X receptor-like receptors

Liver X receptors (LXRs) are a type of nuclear receptor that function as transcription factors and play important roles in the regulation of various physiological processes, including cholesterol metabolism, glucose homeostasis, and inflammation. There are two types of LXR: LXR-alpha and LXR-beta, encoded by the NR1H3 and NR1H2 genes, respectively.
