Variants

Histone variants differ from canonical histones in terms of their amino acid sequences, post-translational modifications, and sometimes their interactions with DNA and other proteins. They are often found at specific genomic regions or during specific stages of development, and they can contribute to the dynamic nature of chromatin and epigenetic regulation. Some histone variants are associated with specific biological processes, while others may be implicated in diseases or developmental disorders.
