VEGF

VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor) signaling pathway is a complex process in which VEGF stimulates new blood vessel formation1. VEGF, also known as vascular permeability factor (VPF), is a dimer glycoprotein that binds to the VEGF receptor (VEGFR) on the surface of the cells, thereby activating intracellular tyrosine kinase and initiating downstream signaling pathways1. Dysregulation in VEGF signaling can result in failure of embryogenesis or promote the development of tumors.
