Regenerated cardiomyocytes with binuclear, multinuclear and heteronuclear nuclei can be seen in or around the myocardial lesions of Keshan disease, and the cytoplasm shows a pathological state of varying degrees of degeneration. Some regenerated cardiomyocytes can develop into hypertrophic muscle fibers.
