Notch

Notch genes encode a class of highly conserved cell surface receptors, which regulate the development of various biological cells from sea urchins to humans. Notch signal affects multiple processes of normal morphogenesis of cells, including the differentiation of pluripotent progenitor cells, cell apoptosis, cell proliferation and cell boundary formation.
