Description

Cerium(IV) oxide-gadolinium doped pellets (20 mol% gadolinium doped) (GDC-20) is an electrolytic material with high oxygen-ion conductivity, which operates at low temperatures. It can be prepared by a variety of methods such as sputtering, aerosol deposition, sol-gel, wet chemical process, co-precipitation, hydrothermal and other combustion routes.Gadolinium doped ceria (GDC) may be used as an intermediate temperature electrolyte for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) at elevated temperatures.
