Product Description

Chitosan is a naturally occurring product which may be used as a biocompatible, antibacterial, and environmentally friendly polyelectrolyte biomaterial. The applications of chitosan include uses in water treatment, chromatography, textile treatment for antimicrobial activity, novel fibers for textiles, biomedical devices, and microcapsule implants for controlled release in drug delivery, among others. The degree of acetylation of chitosan may be determined via titration methods or dye binding.
