Application

Copper turnings are used to synthesize inorganic salts and organometallic complexes and catalysts that can be employed in a variety of synthetic transformations. It is useful in: Synthesis of polynitro[60]fullerene. Copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne Huisgen cycloaddition (click reaction) to synthesize 5-membered heterocycles.
