Product Description | product description: Sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) is a zwitterionic sphingolipid. It is found in insects, yeasts and plants. Sphingosine-1-Phosphate (d20:1) is a phosphorylated derivative of long chain base C20 sphingosine. application: Sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P)-d7 has been used as a reference standard in liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry analysis for quantitative analyses of S1P d20:1 in central nervous system of healthy mice and in human glioblastoma tissue. Biochemical mechanism: Sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P) is an important cellular metabolite and signaling lipid in animal cells. It aids in various physiological and cellular processes such as atherosclerosis, inflammation, immunity, tumorigenesis, and cell proliferation. S1P plays a vital role in mammalian brain and cardiac development. S1P d20:1 serves as a partial agonist at the S1P receptor 2 (S1P2). It has an ability to inhibit S1P d18:1‐mediated cyclooxygenase 2(COX2) induction. |
