Abstract: Prulifloxacin, the prodrug of ulifloxacin (active component), is a newer fluoroquinolone with broad activity against enteric and nonenteric gram-negative bacilli. Ulifloxacin and other oral comparator agents were tested for activity against 582 gastroenteritis strains from global surveillance studies.
