5,6-dimethylxanthenone-4-acetic acid (DMXAA) is a flavone acetic acid derivative. It acts as a vascular disrupting agent (VDA), which damages tumor vasculature and stimulates an anti-tumor immune response. It stimulates hemorrhagic necrosis. An apoptosis inducer for proteomics research.
Soluble in DMSO (>10 mg/ml), DMF (~14 mg/ml), 1:1 solution of DMF: PBS (pH=7.2) (~0.5 mg/ml), water (<1 mg/ml at 25 °C), and ethanol (<1 mg/ml at 25 °C).
