Chip Preparation Techniques for Direct Dot Sampling

Summary

The direct dispensing method, first developed by Brown Laboratory of Stanford University, involves arranging trace oligonucleotide fragments, cDNA or proteins, etc., directly onto slides and other media by means of specific high-speed dispensing robots, and the biomolecule probes are connected to the specially treated slides through covalent or ionic bonds to be prepared as microarrays. The direct dispensing method consists of 3 important parts: preparation of probes, surface modification of carriers and dispensing.
