Product Manager
Sandra Forbes
Niobium and columbium are interchangeable names for the chemical element possessing the atomic number 41. In 1801, it was named columbium, whereas in 1950, the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry officially designated it as niobium (Nb).
Recent Literature
In the presence of 5 mol% of niobium(V) chloride, trifluoromethyl arenes underwent reduction with lithium aluminum hydride, resulting in the production of toluene derivatives with good yields. Additionally, a stepwise partial reduction of a bis(trifluoromethyl) arene was demonstrated.
