SLC23A2(9962) General Description Ascorbic Acid, also known as Vitamin C, is a six-carbon lactone produced by plants and some animal species but not by humans and other primates. It is a water-soluble vitamin. Application L-Ascorbic acid may be used as standard in assay for erythrocyte hemolysis mediated by peroxyl free radicals. It may be used for the reduction of graphene oxide sheets. L-Ascorbic acid has been used as a standard in high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) for quantification of L-ascorbic acid.
