MitoSceneTM Red CMXRos is a red fluorescent dye that contains chloromethyl functional groups that label mitochondria. MitoSceneTM Red CMXRos is passively transported across the cell membrane and directly accumulates on the active mitochondria after simple incubation with living cells. The accumulation of the dye depends on the membrane potential. Once the mitochondria have been stained, they can also be fixed with an aldehyde fixative as required by subsequent experiments. For immunohistochemical and in situ hybridization experiments, the cells need to be permeated first, and MitoSceneTM Red CMXRos can also stain the mitochondria of the cells. The dye is suitable for double labeling experiments, and its red fluorescence can be well distinguished from other green fluorescence probes
LumiTracker Mito Red CMXRos is a cationic, red-fluorescent dye for staining active mitochondria in live cells. CMXRos is a hydrophobic compound that passively diffuses across the plasma membrane and selectively accumulates in active mitochondria based on their membrane potential. LumiTracker Mito Red CMXRos is compatible with aldehyde fixation. This dye is useful to indicate cell health as well as for mitochondria localization.
