Nodusmicin is a co-metabolite of nargenicin bearing the core macrocyclic lactone but lacking the pyrrole ester. Like nargenicin, nodusmicin is a potent antibiotic against both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. Lack of availability has restricted a more extensive investigation of nodusmicin.
