Phenol Red sodium salt is a water soluble pH indicator used in the 6.8 (yellow) to 8.2 (red) range. A small molecule pH indicator.
Soluble in water yielding a dark red solution (25 mg/ml), alcohol (4 mg/ml), methanol, ethanol (200 mg/ml), and aqueous alkali hydroxides or carbonates with formation of a red colored solution.
