Product Description

Rac-Sitagliptin is a CD26 (trizolopyrazine dipeptidyl peptidase IV, DPP-4) inhibitor. DPP-4 is an enzyme which breaks down incretins such as GLP-1, GIP, and gastrointestinal hormones. rac-Sitagliptin controls the release of insulin by inhibiting these gastrointestinal hormones via inhibiting CD26 (DPP-4). Alternate studies indicate that rac-Sitagliptin can induce hemolysis. Furthermore, rac-Sitagliptin increases the number of insulin-positive β-cells in islets by reducing apoptosis.
