Product Description

Sodium Acetate (NaOAc), Anhydrous is commonly used in several applications. A formulation with ethanol may be used for precipitation of nucleic acids. This compound is often used in the preparation of gel stains for protein gel electrophoresis. Effective as a buffer with Acetic acid in the range of pH 3.6 - 5.6. Studies on microbial pili suggest that sodium acetate suppressed K99 production in E. coli strains cultured on a minimal medium. Experiments have shown that when added to food waste composting systems, NaOAc may be effective at counteracting the adverse effects of organic acids produced in the composting process.
For precipitation of nucleic acids and preparation of gel stains for protein gel electrophoresis.
