Aladdin's UltraBio™ Viral RNA Stabilization Solution is a non-toxic reagent that can quickly inhibit RNase and stabilize RNA in viral samples at room temperature. This product is widely used for the stabilization and preservation of viral RNA in fresh samples.This product has a wide range of applications. It is mainly used for the stabilization and preservation of viral RNA in fresh samples, such as plasma, serum, cell-free body fluids, swabs, and cell culture supernatant, especially samples that cannot be extracted immediately after collection, such as field or clinical samples and samples in large numbers that cannot be frozen immediately.This product has similar viral RNA stabilization effect to liquid nitrogen cryopreservation. The product can quickly penetrate into cells and completely inhibit RNase to prevent RNA degradation for a long time.This product is safe and convenient to use. The product is non-toxic and non-irritating and can be used at room temperature. Compared to liquid nitrogen, it effectively avoids frostbite, centrifuge tube bursting, and other potential risks. Generally, we recommend storing the preserved vial samples in this product at room temperature or 4℃ for short-term storage or transport, at -20℃ or -80℃ for long-term storage. But before being transferred to -20℃ or -80℃, the viral samples should be kept at 4℃ overnight or longer after the addition of this product to allow for thorough penetration of this product into viral samples. The preservation effect of this product on the N-gene of novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in lentivirus is shown in the table below. The RNA isolated from lentivirus preserved in this product at 37℃ for 1 day or at room temperature for 1 week with the RNAeasy™ Viral RNA Isolation Kit with Spin Column had almost the same Ct value as that isolated from the lentivirus stored at -80℃ (Positive Control). However, some RNA was degraded after 1 day of storage of lentivirus at 37℃ in TE (Tris-EDTA buffer) , and most RNA was degraded after one week of storage in TE at room temperature, with much higher Ct value was obtained.Note


Precautions

Specimen collectors need to be properly protected according to the relevant requirements, and subsequent operations should be performed in a Class II biosafety cabinet, following the Class II biosafety or higher standard.The viral samples after collection should be immediately and completely immersed in the RNALater™ reagent.Although this product has certain stabilization effect on frozen samples, it is more suitable for fresh samples.When thawing samples that are preserved in this product at -20℃ or -80℃, it is normal to see crystallization of the RNALater™ reagent. The sample can be used for RNA extraction after the crystals are completely dissolvedThis product is for R&D only. Instructions for Use

1. For swab samples.a. After sample collection, put swabs directly into a sampling tube containing 0.5-1ml of this product, then store at an appropriate temperature for future use.b. Before RNA extraction, add 300µl of lysis buffer (provided in the RNA extraction kit) per 100µl of liquid sample. Mix gently by inverting the tube 3-5 times and proceed to RNA isolation according to instructions of the RNA extraction kit.2. For liquid samples.a. After sample collection, add 5-10 times volume of RNALater™ to the liquid sample, and then store at an appropriate temperature for future use.b. Before RNA extraction, add 300µl of lysis buffer (provided in the RNA extraction kit) per 100µl of liquid sample.
