Product Description

(2S)-(+)-Amino-5-iodoacetamidopentanoic acid, also known as 2-AIPA, is an irreversible inhibitor of ODC (ornithine decarboxylase) and arginase. Both (2S)-(+)-Amino-5-iodoacetamidopentanoic acid and (2S)-(+)-Amino-6-iodoacetamidohexanoic acid are demonstrated to produce antitumor effects in rat and mice studies, decreasing total serum proteins and increasing ALT and AST levels in these models.
