Product Description | Licochalcone A, Synthetic is an estrogenic flavanoid originally derived from licorice root (Glycyrrhiza glabra). Licochalcone-A has displayed the ability to reduce Bcl-2 protein expression and induce apoptosis in several human cancer cell lines. Licochalcone-A also induces cell differentiation, exhibits antibacterial, antiinflammatory and antitumor activity. It has been reported to interfere with parasite mitochondrial electron transport chain and energy metabolism, and also to inhibitin vitro growth of the human malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum. There is also evidence that licochalcone-A can regulate rat vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation. |
