Protein Function

This is the catalytic component of the active enzyme, which catalyzes the hydrolysis of ATP coupled with the exchange of sodium and potassium ions across the plasma membrane. This action creates the electrochemical gradient of sodium and potassium ions, providing the energy for active transport of various nutrients.

Phosphorylation on Tyr-10 modulates pumping activity.

Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections) analysis of endometrium tissue labelling NaK ATPase with Recombinant ATP1A1 Antibody (Ab128631) at 1/10000. Heat mediated antigen retrieval was performed using Tris/EDTA buffer pH 9.0.

Overlay histogram showing HeLa cells stained with Recombinant ATP1A1 Antibody (Ab128631) (Red). The cells were fixed with 4% paraformaldehyde (10 min) and then permeabilized with 0.1% TritonX-100 for 15 min. The cells were then incubated in the Recombinant ATP1A1 Antibody (Ab128631) (1/200 dilution) in 1x PBS/1% BSA for 30 min at room temperature. The secondary antibody used was a Goat Anti-Rabbit Alexa Fluor® 488 (IgG H+L) at 1/2000 dilution for 20 min at room temperature. Unlabeled sample (Black) was used as a control.
