Product Description | Sodium hexadecyl sulphate (SHS), a long chain sodium alkyl sulfate, is a natural anionic surfactant. Electrical conductivities of the aqueous solutions of SHS have been measured. Mixtures of SHS and hexadecanol (HD) have been employed for the emulsion polymerization of styrene. The presence of impurities in SHS can be evaluated by studying the impact of the chain length and pH of SHS on the electrokinetic properties of hematite. SHS intercalated in hydrocalumite (a layer double hydroxide) has potential applications as sorbents for non-ionic organic contaminants. |
